Indonesia consist of over 17,000 islands nestled between Asia and Australia and surrounded by the South China Sea, the Indian Ocean and the Philippine Sea. Most of us will associate one of the islands of Indonesia with coffee... Java. The earliest European coffee trade spread from this island in the late 17th century when the Dutch East Indies Company established some of the earliest coffee plantations there. Today the islands of Sumatra, Java and Sulawesi produce some of the world's best and most unique coffees.
